Η Αποστολική Διακονία της Εκκλησίας της Ελλάδος εξέδωσε και κυκλοφορεί το έργο «Ιερά Λείψανα Αγίων της καθ' ημάς Ανατολής στη Βενετία». Το έργο τούτο περιλαμβάνει κατ' ουσίαν τρεις επί μέρους εργασίες:

α. Τη μελέτη του διακόνου π. Enrico Morini, Καθηγητού Ιστορίας και Θεσμών της Ορθοδόξου Εκκλησίας του Πανεπιστημίου Bologna της Ιταλίας, με τίτλο «Βενετσιάνικη Λειψανογραφία».

β. Τη μελέτη της κυρίας Χρύσας Μαλτέζου, Διευθύντριας του Ελληνικού Ινστιτούτου Βενετίας, με τίτλο «Λείψανα Αγίων στο Ναό του Αγίου Γεωργίου της Βενετίας - Nazione Greca και Cose Sacre», και

γ. Τα Συναξάρια των Αγίων, που αναφέρονται στην παρούσα έκδοση, και μία μικρή μελέτη με τίτλο «Περίγραμμα των σχέσεων Βυζαντίου και Βενετίας μέχρι την Δ´ Σταυροφορία» του Θεοφιλ. Επισκόπου Φαναρίου κ. Αγαθαγγέλου, Γενικού Διευθυντού της Αποστολικής Διακονίας, ο οποίος επίσης είχε την επιμέλεια της εκδόσεως και τον καταρτισμό του καταλόγου της πλούσιας βιβλιογραφίας. Τη φωτογράφιση πολλών φωτογραφιών έκανε ο κ. Βασίλειος Νίκας.

Σκοποί της παρούσης εκδόσεως, όπως αναφέρει στον πρόλογο του βιβλίου ο Θεοφιλ. Επίσκοπος Φαναρίου κ. Αγαθάγγελος, είναι να προβάλλει τους βίους των Αγίων ως πρότυπα για τη σχέση και τη στάση του ανθρώπου απέναντι στο Θεό και να μας γνωρίσει την ιστορία και τον πολιτισμό, την επιστημονική - ιστορική θεώρηση της «μετακομιδής» των ιερών λειψάνων Αγίων της καθ' ημάς Ανατολής στη Βενετία της Ιταλίας, κατά την περίοδο των βυζαντινών χρόνων και ιδιαίτερα μετά την άλωση της Κωνσταντινουπόλεως από τους Φράγκους, το έτος 1204 μ.Χ.

Στο βιβλίο περιέχονται συνολικώς τα Συναξάρια και οι «ιστορικές περιπέτειες» των ιερών λειψάνων 36 Αγίων, Μαρτύρων και Οσίων της Εκκλησίας μας.

«THE HOLY RELICS OF SAINTS OF THE EASTERN
ORTHODOX CHURCH IN VENICE»,

The Apostoliki Diakonia of the Church of Greece has issued and released into circulation the book titled «The Holy Relics of Saints of the Eastern Orthodox Church in Venice». This book essentially consists of three separate works:

a. A study by the deacon fr . Enrico Morini , Professor of History and Institutions of the Orthodox Church of the University of Bologna in Italy, titled «Venetian Reliquary Art».

b. A study by Mrs. Chrysa Maltezou , Director of the Greek Institute of Venice, titled «Relics of Saints in the Temple of Saint George of Venice - Nazione Greca and Cose Sacre », and

c. The Books of Saints, included in this edition, and a brief study titled "An outline of the relations between Byzantium and Venice until the 4 th Crusade", by His Eminence the Bishop of Fanarion Agathangelos, General Director of the Apostoliki Diakonia, who also supervised this edition as well as the drafting of the catalogue containing the voluminous bibliography. Many of the photographs in the book were taken by Mr. Basil Nikas .

As outlined in the prologue of the book by His Eminence the Bishop of Fanarion Agathangelos, the aim of this book is to project the lives of the Saints as models for man's relations and stance towards God, and to also acquaint us with the history and the civilization, and the scientific-historical view on the "translation" of the holy relics of the Saints of the Eastern Orthodox Church to Venice-Italy during the Byzantine period, and especially during the sacking of Constantinople by the Franks in 1204 A.D.

This book contains in full the Biographies and the «historical adventures" of the holy relics of 36 Saints, Martyrs and Blessed Fathers of our Church.
