« REPLIES TO SOTERIOLOGICAL QUESTIONS»,
Andreas Theodorou (†), Professor Emeritus of the Athens University
One more essay - the 20 th consecutive one - by the memorable professor Andreas Theodorou has been published and placed into circulation by the Apostoliki Diakonia. The full title of the book is "Replies to Soteriological Questions. Orthodox Soteriology in the Form of 169 Questions and Answers." As the memorable Professor mentions in the foreword of his book:
«This book was written for the purpose of informing the orthodox faithful on what they should know about the important issue of their salvation. It does not aspire to add any simplistic knowledge to the mind's gnostic content; instead, it strives to illuminate the heart, to warm it and to place it on the appropriate pedestal of human existence, which is how God had designed it but was unfortunately distorted by sin.
The book resting in the hands of the reader has been written with profuse love; it has come from a heart that lives intensely within its dogmatic faith. It is this precise faith that the author wishes to transfuse to fellow-man, in the simplest possible way, avoiding the profundity of academic scientism which, although significant in its own areas of expertise, nevertheless finds it hard to touch the minds and the hearts of most Christians. This is a simplified study that attempts to give a general idea of salvation, which is the ultimate treasure and the final destination of human existence, as illuminated by the Lord, through the light of His redemptive, divine revelation».
In honor of the sacred memory of this ever - memorable Professor , voluminous writer and a beloved associate Andreas Theodorou , the Apostoliki Diakonia of the Church of Greece has embarked on this publication, in anticipation of the faithful becoming better acquainted with the testimony of the Orthodox belief and the theological word of the untiring worker of the Lord's vineyard.

« THE BIBLE FOR CHILDREN»
Published by the Apostoliki Diakonia in its first edition and now in circulation is "The Bible for Children". With the publication of this book, the Apostoliki Diakonia "today fulfills an urgent need of our times, which is the printing of the Bible especially for children. This is the justified request of today's children, who desire to acquaint themselves with the biblical texts in a more accessible and more intelligible language. Our Organization has responded to this demand - with an excess of care and supervision of the sacred scriptural text's language - to the fullest possible extent.
We are obliged to point out that this publication -unavoidably- consists of a selective presentation of Biblical excerpts. In other words, it includes only those biblical narrations that portray the profound love of God towards mankind, along with man's attempts to respond to this divine and miraculous calling. In this way , the search for the Holy Bible in its entirety -where the divine plan for man's salvation and the world's is recorded- will of course become the eventual personal challenge of every child. It is our hope that this publication of "The Bible for Children" will be a decisive challenge in this direction, and at the same time will reveal to every reader the wonderful, unique and superb world of God's Word.».
